Academy

The Academy button in-game.

Academies in RWBY: Amity Arena are groups of players that belong to the same Kingdom.

Overview[]

Academies are player-created groups of up to 50 players. Academies are created for Lien 1000. Players can only join Academies based in their Kingdom (e.g. a player from Atlas cannot join a Mistral Academy).

Each Academy has a chatroom where members of the Academy can chat with each other.

Players in Academies can request cards from other Academy members; however, it must be a card they already own. How many cards can be donated at a time, as well as how many cards players can request, depends on what Arena the player is currently in.

Players can also challenge other players in their Academy to a friendly battle, which can be spectated by others in the Academy.

During Academy Crate events, players in the Academy must collect at least 50 Dust Crystals between them in order to get an Academy Crate, with additional levels unlocked upon collecting more Dust Crystals. Academy Crates have a maximum of 10 levels.

Players can also spectate battles of other players in their Academy, as well as share replays of their own battles.

Trivia[]

Emotes in Academy Chat

An image depicting emotes being used in academy chat.

  • An image on the app's page on both Google Play and the App Store shows a screenshot of emotes being used in academy chat. However, this ability has never existed in the game, and there has been no word from the developers on whether or not it will ever be added.
    • This image also depicts a different version of the in-game Academy button than the one seen in the final game. The button depicted in the image features a sword in the ground with two triangles behind it, while the final version of the button features three clock towers, with the one in the middle being shorter than the other two.
