Ilia was a rare Faunus that could avoid detection in both senses of the word. Her trait allowed her to blend in with humans as well as she could blend with the environment around her. All she needed to do was keep quiet and turn a blind eye.

Maybe that's why Ilia despises those who stand by and do nothing, the most.

Because she never forgave herself... for doing the same.

Competitive Analysis

Ilia Amitola as she was released is often considered to be one of the worst cards in the history of RWBY: Amity Arena. Her invisibility broke upon the start of her attack animation, meaning that she never got the first attack in any interaction. This, to most players, ruined the point of a stealth unit. Ilia Amitola received buffs in the After the Fall Update to her attack speed, and her aura cost was reduced. These were the more notable changes which, alongside her altered invisibility now breaking after attacks rather than before, made her much better in the eyes of many players.

Following her buffs, many players used Ilia Amitola as offlane pressure while the opponent was low on aura defending a push in the other lane. However, some players believe that the stealth mechanic actually hinders the card, since it does not allow for her to use her tankiness effectively. Despite an HP nerf in the Cinco de Mayo Update, Ilia Amitola is still a popular choice in the meta, even if her viability dropped significantly.
