The September Surge Update was the twelfth update in RWBY: Amity Arena. It was implemented on August 29, 2019.

Additions

• New Units

Changes

• The Plaza was now open for two hours at a time instead of just one.
• Level 13 players in Arena 9 now had the option of choosing to play for Fun.

Buffs

• Hammer Nora: Her ATK SPD was increased from 1.2s to 1s, her Enemy Flight Time was increased from 4s to 6s, her Skill Range was increased from 7.5 to 10, and her Skill AOE was increased from 2 to 2.5.
• Boarbatusk: Its aura cost was decreased from 5 to 4.
• Spider Droid: Spider Droid's skill now cannot be interrupted.
• Pomegrenade: Pomegrenade's skill now cannot be interrupted. Additionally, their Skill Damage was increased from x4 to x5.
• Griffon: Its HP was increased by 29%, its ATK was increased by 17%, and its ATK SPD was increased from 1.5s to 1.4s.
• Nevermore Chick: Its HP was increased by 31%, and its ATK was increased by 15%.
• White Fang Lieutenant: His HP was increased by 30%, his ATK was decreased by 10%, and his attacks were changed to where his first attack did 150% damage and his followup attack did 50%.
• Summoner Weiss: Her Arma Gigas' attacks now do AOE damage.
• Scythe Ruby: Her Dash Setup Time was increased from 1s to 0.5s, and her HP was increased by 17%.
• Biker Yang: Her ATK SPD was increased from 1.8s to 1.6s.
• Bumblebee: Their ATK SPD was increased from 1.8s to 1.6s.
• AK-200: Their ATK Range was increased from 5 to 5.5.
• Death Stalker Den: Its HP was increased by 15%, its Spawn Time was increased from 3s to 2.5s, and the number of Death Stalkers spawned upon death was increased from 4 to 5.
• Fox Alistair: His HP was increased by 32%, his Cast Time was increased from 1.5s to 1s, and his Skill AOE was increased from 2.5 to 3.
• Albain Brothers: Their ATK SPD was increased from 1.5s to 1.3s.
• Malachite Twins: Their ATK was increased by 32%.

Nerfs

• Ice Flower: Ruby's shots after the initial freezing shot were changed to slow down opposing units instead of freezing them.
• Nolan: His ATK SPD was decreased from 2.1s to 2.3s.
• AK-130: Their Unit Count was increased from 4 to 5, their HP was decreased by 22%, and their ATK SPD was decreased from 1.5s to 1.6s.
• Boundless Jaune: His aura cost was increased from 2 to 3, and he can no longer heal summoned entities (like Shadow Blake's clones).
• Atlesian Beam Turret: Its aura cost was increased from 3 to 4, its ATK Range was decreased from 11 to 10, and its ATK was decreased by 30%.
• Atlesian Burrow Gun: Its ATK Range was decreased from 6 to 5, its ATK SPD was decreased from 0.7s to 0.9s, and its ATK was decreased by 18%.

Bug Fixes

• A bug was fixed where Hammer Nora would not knock up units that were directly in the center of her attack.
• Another bug fix involved Raven Branwen occasionally teleporting units outside of the game area, preventing opponents from defending against them.

Teases

• Hazel Rainart was teased in the "Bonus" section.

• The September Surge Update is so far the only update to not include a living being as the featured unit, as the Atlesian Gunship is an aircraft.
