The Training Grounds are the tutorial arena for RWBY: Amity Arena. It is first encountered upon starting the game and is the arena used by the player until they complete the tutorial, when they move on to Beacon Academy.

Overview

The Training Grounds serve as the tutorial on how to play RWBY: Amity Arena. Upon starting the game, the player is approached by Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long about the game and is taught how to play before being cast off on their own to the first arena, Beacon Academy.

Tutorial

The tutorial for the Training Grounds is given by Ruby Rose and Yang Xiao Long, with Lindsay Jones and Barbara Dunkelman reprising their roles. Unlike the tutorial for the Battle of Beacon, the tutorial for the Training Grounds is not able to be replayed.

[The battlefield is seen for the first time. The player's opening hand is Vomit Boy Jaune, White Fang Gunners, Ursa Major, and AK-200.]
Ruby	Jaune?? How did he make it in this gam... I mean, put him down there!	Jaune?? How did he make it in this gam... I mean, put him down there! *laughs nervously*
[The player deploys Vomit Boy Jaune in the designated location. White Fang Thugs enters the hand.]
Ruby	Now put this card here to support him!
[The player deploys White Fang Gunners in the designated location. Another copy of Vomit Boy Jaune enters the hand.]
Ruby	You're starting to get the idea, keep going! I'll just watch!
[The player finishes the match.]
Ruby	Awwww yeah! I'm the best teacher in the world~ Yeah!
[The player receives a Wooden Crate as their victory reward. Using a Key to open it, they will receive Lien, Vomit Boy Jaune, and Scythe Ruby.]
Ruby		[offscreen] Best teacher ever!
Yang	Yeahhh... ok... since this is the most important part, I'll take it from here, sis.

[The player selects Vomit Boy Jaune and levels him up.]

Ruby	Waaaaaaiiiit! Heeey! You didn't even put me in your deck yet!! NOT COOL!
Ruby	Do you even know how long I had to stand still to get them to model me just right?! Add me!... NOW!
[The player selects Scythe Ruby and adds her to their deck.]
Ruby	That's more like it. Now I can show you how awesome I am in battle!
Ruby	Hurry Yang! You come and see too!
Yang		[offscreen] I already know what you look like!
[The player goes into battle once more, placing Vomit Boy Jaune and AK-200 in the designated spot behind the Turrets.]
Ruby	The time is nigh! Summon me forth, good citizen!
[The player places Scythe Ruby in the designated spot before finishing the match and receiving a Wooden Crate as their reward. Using a Key to open it, the player receives Lien and Yatsuhashi.]
Yang	Oh, it's Yatsuhashi from team CFVY! He looks useful, let's add him to your deck!
